Tutoring

In accordance with two of the five main principles of the National Honor Society, scholarship and service, all NHS members are required to assist students in afterschool study hall tutoring in the library at least once per month.  It is our hope that the tutoring services we offer will create an enthusiasm for scholarship within all members of our student body.

For more information, please contact our NHS Executive Board at nhs@sasmaui.org

Members:

A failure to assist in tutoring will result in subtraction of points and potentially affect your membership in the NHS.

Sign up for a tutoring date by clicking on the large green button on the right hand side of this page.

Tutoring schedules will be posted at least 7 days before the scheduled tutoring day.  If you wish to make a change to your scheduling preference for the following month, you are to contact the NHS officers at nhs@sasmaui.org before the schedules become official.

If you are unable to attend a tutoring session that you are scheduled for, you must email nhs@sasmaui.org at least 24 hours in advance explicitly stating the reason for your absence. You also are required to arrange a replacement for your scheduled day prior to the tutoring session. The NHS secretaries must also be notified of the replacement student who will be tutoring during your assigned session.

If for some reason, you are in a situation where you are unable to email nhs@sasmaui.org, you are to notify any member of the NHS Executive Board of your situation immediately upon return to school.

Thank you for your understanding,
NHS Executive Board

  1. Teaching other people through tutoring is really helpful. I personally encourage everyone I know to go to high school chem/high school chemistry tutoring so they can understand the subject properly. I think tutoring is a great way to spend your free time and it is good because you get to improve in the subject. Everyone surely appreciates the guidance they get from the NHS.
